MCB 53 2011 Reunion
(Pensacola)
Greetings and start
getting pumped for our reunion trip “Back to the Future.” That’s right; part of
the activities will be a throwback beach party like we used to have on Red
Beach. We are also planning a trip to the Gulfport Seabee base which just
happens to be near the Biloxi gambling casinos. A natural fit.
Our reunion will be
during the first two weeks of Oct 2011 lasting anywhere from four to seven
days. More details in the coming months. In fact you may want to extend your
stay to take advantage of the deep sea fishing, dolphin tours, visiting the
lighthouse and historic district, diving to the artificial reef formed by the
Oriskany, canoe and boat tours, ferrying to Fort Pickens on the Gulf Islands
National Seashore, golfing, enjoying miles of beach – bring the family.
For sure we are planning
on hitting the Flora-Bama
beachside oyster bar, honkytonk, touted as being America's "Last Great
Roadhouse".
http://www.florabama.com/
An early
activity will be a welcoming reception at the famous seaside Cobalt restaurant.

On the back
end, of our reunion, will be the concluding dinner to be held at the Pensacola
Naval Officers Club. In between we will visit the
Pensacola National Museum of Naval Aviation and
with some luck view a performance by the Blue Angels. Many, many, more
activities in the works - suggestions, desires, contact Brian or Sara
(404-824-4453).
Headquarters will be
the Ocean Breeze West Condos with furnished condos available for rent through
Brian and Sara. Many details forthcoming through the web page and newsletters,
stay tuned and get on board for the good times
